The event\u00a0brought\u00a0more\u00a0than\u00a0<strong>70 scholars<\/strong>\u00a0from across the Atlanta Metro Area\u00a0to the Georgia State Capitol\u00a0for an immersive civic learning experience.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0program\u00a0combined\u00a0participants\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Project Ready,\u00a0<\/strong>supported by the Young Professionals,\u00a0with those\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>At Promise\u00a0At\u00a0Work Program<\/strong>, supported by\u00a0ULGA\u2019s\u00a0Youth and Young Adult Services Team.\u00a0The young scholars explored\u00a0the legislative process\u00a0in-depth\u00a0firsthand and\u00a0gained\u00a0insight into how decisions made at the Capitol directly\u00a0affect\u00a0their schools, neighborhoods, and futures.<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished leaders elevated the experience, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nancy Flake Johnson<\/strong>, President &amp; CEO, Urban League of Greater Atlanta.<\/li>\n<li><strong>John H.
