However, the allure comes with a hefty price tag, as the nation\u2019s capital boasts a median gross rent of $1,668, an average mortgage of $2,569, and an overall annual cost of living exceeding $78,800.<\/p>\n<p>These financial considerations underscore the significant impact of location on the affordability and desirability of a region.<\/p>\n<aside><\/aside>\n<aside><\/aside>\n<p>Examining the broader financial landscape, a<a href=\"https:\/\/smartasset.com\/data-studies\/100k-202\">\u00a0new study by SmartAsset<\/a>\u00a0sheds light on the varying value of a $100,000 income across different U.S. cities, including the District of Columbia, factoring in federal, state, and local taxes, along with the local cost of living premiums. SmartAsset officials said they utilized its paycheck calculator to apply federal, state, and local taxes to a $100,000 annual salary.
