Many people shared photos and videos online and couldn\u2019t contain their excitement as the area was transformed into a winter wonderland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSnow is falling in Gauteng province, which includes Johannesburg, the country\u2019s largest city,\u201d said South Africa\u2019s Weather on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vidverto.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is infrequent for it to snow in Johannesburg, but it does happen once every five to 10 years or so,\u201dsaid AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jason Nicholls. \u201cThe last time it snowed in the city was 2012, and it also snowed back in 2007.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Nicholls, the reason snow is \u201cso infrequent\u201d in South Africa during the winter months is due to the fact that winter typically coincides with the country\u2019s dry season, which runs from June to August.
