CHARLOTTE, N.C.<\/span>,\u00a0Jan. 27, 2022<\/span>\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ —\u00a0E.E. Ward Moving & Storage Co.<\/a>, the oldest Black-owned business in the country, recently announced that it has expanded its operations to the Carolinas with new offices in\u00a0Charlotte<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Raleigh<\/span>. In addition, as the country prepares to celebrate Black History Month, E.E. Ward Moving & Storage Company\u2013recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce as the\u00a0oldest continuously Black-owned and operated business<\/a>\u00a0in the United States\u2013will be the first Black-owned agent to receive the northAmerican\u00ae\u00a0Van Lines Agent<\/span>\u00a0of the Year award. The award presentation will be held\u00a0February 7<\/span>\u00a0at the company’s new office in\u00a0Charlotte, North Carolina<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Columbus, Ohio<\/span>-based E. E. Ward Moving Company was founded in 1881 as a stop on the Underground Railroad and has grown into one of the most highly trusted moving companies in the country today. From 2014 to 2017 the company experienced a significant\u00a0demand\u00a0for moves to and from\u00a0North Carolina<\/span>, which aligned with current migration\u00a0patterns and the growing desire for people on the move to choose North Carolina\u00a0to live, work and retire. This, combined with a successful partnership with\u00a0Richard Petty Motorsports<\/span>, prompted the company to open offices in\u00a0Charlotte<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Raleigh<\/span>.<\/p>\n
